Section 1: How to Set Up the Husky Lens
- First, let’s hook up your Husky Lens. Plug the ribbon cable from the Husky Lens into the Husky Lens breakout board, ensuring all wires are plugged in to the top row on the far right, and matching wire colors to the pin colors.
- Green to SDA
- Blue to SCL
- Black to GND (ground)
- Red to 3V3 (power)

- Plug your Micro:Bit in to the Husky Lens breakout board, ensuring the LED screen faces up (same side as the pins!).

- Grab your USB-microUSB adapter. Plug the USB side of the adapter into your computer and the microUSB side into the Micro:Bit.

- Next, let’s train your Husky Lens. Use the selection wheel on the Husky Lens to move to the “Object Recognition” menu on the screen.
- Hold an object in front of the camera. Make sure the screen highlights the object with a box.
- Hold down training button and move the object around so the Husky Lens can start recognizing that object from different angles.
- Let go of the training button. Make sure the screen now highlights your object in blue. That means it has learned how to recognize that object!
- To start over, press the training button twice and repeat steps 4-7.
- Now, let’s train the Husky Lens to recognize multiple objects at once. Use the selection wheel on the Husky Lens to move to the “Object Recognition” menu on the screen.
- Press and hold the selection wheel and navigate to “Learn Multiple.” Click on it using the selection wheel.
- Using the selection wheel, scroll to toggle the switch on the screen to the right (until it turns blue).
- Click the selection wheel again to exit the “Learn Multiple” menu.
- Scroll to the left to “Save & Return.”
- Click the selection wheel again to exit the “Object Recognition” menu.
- Then, follow steps 4-7 for each new object. For each new object, you should see a new ID number on the screen.
- Once you let go of the training button, you should see a popup on the screen that says “Click again to continue! Click other button to finish.” If you’re not done, repeat steps 4-7. Once you’re done, click the selection wheel.
