Intro

This tutorial is here to help you get comfortable designing in Illustrator — specifically using the Pen Tool. It’s one of the most useful tools to learn if you want to create your own designs for projects.

Whether you're using the Cricut, laser cutter, or any tool that needs a vector file, knowing how to design in Illustrator gives you way more control over what you can make. You'll be able to trace drawings, build designs from scratch, and prep your files for cutting, engraving, printing, or whatever you’re working on.

Other non-vector design tools exist, with one of the most user friendly being Canva. If illustrator feels like a reach, it may be nice to start with other design tools.
